The new ROG Strix SCAR 18 is proudly announced by ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG). The Strix SCAR 18 now has a completely new look. This powerful laptop is ready to power victories among esports professionals and gaming aficionados when combined with ROG’s Nebula display and an upgraded Intelligent Cooling thermal system.
The Scar, ROG’s top-performing laptop, is powered by the most recent Intel® and NVIDIA® CPUs. The Strix SCAR 18 has a maximum Intel Core i9-13980HX processor with 24 cores and 32 threads and a maximum NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with a 175 watt TDP. This results in a system power output of 240 W. (with Dynamic Boost and Manual performance modes). Without the need for manual intervention, a MUX Switch with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus intelligently delivers the best frame rates when tethered and longer battery life when plugged in.
The updated 18-inch Strix laptop has a brand-new Intelligent Cooling suite with ROG’s Tri-Fan Technology, which was initially featured on the 2022 Flow X16. And for the 2023 Strix SCAR 18, we’ve expanded the full width heatsink from the Flow X16. Comparing this larger heatsink to 2022 versions, the surface area for heat dissipation is increased by up to 92.23%.
This guarantees top-notch ventilation for the potent components within when combined with our new full-surround vents. ROG’s revolutionary approach enables higher-than-ever TGPs for this year’s next-gen CPUs and GPUs when combined with Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU with 7 heat pipes.

The 2023 18-inch Strix computer offers more than simply a larger 16:10 panel. It also has ROG’s ground-breaking Nebula display, which delivers a picture that is quicker, brighter, and more colourful than on ordinary gaming laptops for an immersive experience.
In order for users to know their display is top-notch, nebula displays must have high refresh rates, a response time of 3ms or less, at least 500 nits of brightness, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. The Scar 18 has a display that can be up to QHD 240 Hz.
The Strix Scar was developed for gamers that demand the absolute best in portable performance, alongside showstopping design with endless customisation. Armoury Crate’s performance modes allow users to pick from silent, low-powered computing to turbo-charged gaming, or tweak voltage and fans manually for a completely fine-tuned experience.
Plenty of RGB lighting adorns the chassis of the Strix machine, including an all-new full-width light bar along the vents on the back. With Aura Sync, users can keep their laptop’s lighting coordinated with their peripherals, or even design their complex lighting effects with Aura Creator
